Artistic Presentation Total 80 Points

Presentation (costume/props) - Does your costume reflect your performance. Do your props set a scene and are they referred to more than once during your routine - we are looking for continuity. You do not *need* props. Your costume does not need to be sparkly. We are looking to see if your costume draws your piece together.
Confidence, Stage presence, Engagement - We want to clearly see your story/vibe/energy/emotion/theme/character. We want to see you project your gaze and fill the entire room with your stage presence. This needs to be present throughout the whole of your routine and not to be lost while on the pole or during floor work. Speak to us without words.
Choreography - Is your choreography interesting? Is your next movement unexpected? We want to be surprised with your next movement. Does your choreography show your story/vibe/energy/emotion/theme/character. We want to see your tricks, floor and flow work cohesively.
Floor work/dance/movement away from pole - This movement can be your body on the floor or just your feet. This doesn’t have to be dance it can be any movement but it must reflect your style and be cohesive with your story/vibe/energy/emotion/theme/character. We do not want to see singular or combinations of tricks/movements/dance that aren’t fluid and cohesive with your whole performance. You will not be marked higher for level of difficulty of floor work, we are looking for originality and relevance to your performance.
Story/vibe/energy/emotion/theme/character - Your performance must portray one or more of these elements. If you chose a character please make sure it is universal and easy to understand. If you chose story it needs a beginning middle and end. If you chose theme make sure it is obvious by your movements to reflect it (for example water) If you chose energy make sure it is obvious and your audience can feel it, if you chose emotion, again make it obvious so your audience can empathise.
Fluidity and general flow of routine - Does your routine flow? We don’t want to see unintentional pauses, re-grips and fumbles. By fluid with mean intentional movements that are purposely linked together either continuously or with intentional pauses or stillness. Fluidity can be soft, floating, continuous or sharp, jerky, staccato - as long as it is intentional
Movement Quality - We want to see texture to your movement. Are you moving right through your whole body? Is there intention through your whole body and energy continuously.
Technical Total 30 points
Execution of tricks and combinations - Are your tricks performed with ease? Are knees locked and toes pointed where appropriate* We don’t want to see shuffles, readjustments and multiple had repositioning. Are your tricks and combinations performed safely? We don’t want to see slips, falls, stumbles.
*For some artistic interpretations we understand knees may be bent and feet flexed but this must be intentional and not forgotten feet or micro bends in knees.
Transitions - level and originality - Are your transitions interesting? We want to see you dance through your transitions, play with them, allow them to tell your audience your story/vibe/energy/emotion/theme/character. Do your transitions link your tricks, flow and floor together interestingly.
Tricks - incorporation - Do your tricks reflect your performance, do you dance and move in your tricks where appropriate. Do you have a wide variety of tricks? We don’t want to see similar tricks repeated.
